How to play
Party mode
For 2–10 players, each on their own device. One player creates a lobby and shares the link or the 4-letter code.
Take turns being the reader. For each passage, one player is the reader and everyone else is a hider. A round ends when everyone has read once.
Hiders slip in words. The hiders see a famous passage. They tap a gap between two words, type a word that fits, and press Enter. Words are only added; nothing is removed or replaced. Depending on how many are playing, each hider hides 1–3 words per passage, never side by side. Hiders have about 30 seconds; if time runs out, whatever they typed is hidden, and an empty slot gets a random safety word.
The reader cuts the hidden words. The reader then sees the passage with every hidden word in it, and taps the words they think don't belong. They get one cut per hidden word, plus 2 spares, and each cut is revealed straight away. Unused cuts are made at random when time runs out.
Scoring. Every hidden word that survives scores its letter count for the hider who hid it, safety words included. The reader scores 2 points for every hidden word they catch. Long, sneaky words that sound like the author score best.
The Daily puzzle
A solo puzzle with a new passage every day. 4 hidden words have been slipped in, one from each tier: Obvious (wrong tone or era), Plausible (a fitting adjective or noun), Smooth (a filler adverb) and Sneaky (sounds exactly like the author).
Tap a word, then confirm to cut it. Find all 4 to win; 3 wrong cuts and you're out. Stuck? One hint shows the passage's author and year. When you finish, share your result as a spoiler-free grid.
